Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Washington

The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:

1. Download and fill out the Washington Affidavit of Loss form. 

2. You can do one of the following options:

Bring the application to the Vehicle Licensing Office.
​
Time frame to get the title: 8-10 weeks
Cost to obtain: $35.50
​
​Quick Titles available at select offices
​Time frame to get the title: Mailed or given to you immediately
Cost to obtain: $85.50
​
Mail the application to the Vehicle Licensing Office.
​
Time frame to get the title: 8-10 weeks
Cost to obtain: $35.50
​
​Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Washington
​
The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
