How do I get a duplicate title in Nevada?

Instructions on obtaining a duplicate Nevada (NV) title

Nevada utilizes electronic titles. If your title is electronic, you will need to obtain a physical copy prior to pickup.

If the vehicle was last titled in Nevada

  1. Download and fill out the Application for Duplicate Nevada Certificate of Title within the Vehicle Forms tab

  2. Submit the application

    • In person at your local DMV office

      • Time frame: 6 weeks

      • Cost to obtain: $20 when mailed in-state ($35 when mailed out-of-state)

    • By mailing the application to:

      Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles
      555 Wright Way
      Carson City, NV 89711

      • Time frame: 6 weeks

      • Cost to obtain: $20 when mailed in-state ($35 when mailed out-of-state)


If the vehicle was last titled outside of Nevada

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
