Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Louisiana

The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:

1. Download and fill out the Louisiana Duplicate Title Application. 

2. You can do one of the following options:

Bring the application to the Office of Motor Vehicles.
​
Time frame to get the title: 7-10 business days
Cost to obtain: $68.50 + handling fees
​
Mail the application to the Office of Motor Vehicles.

​Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Louisiana
​
The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
