What is a Letter of Authorization?

Information about when and why a Letter of Authorization might be required

Updated over a year ago

A Letter of Authorization is written confirmation that gives a person, known as an "agent," the authority to act on behalf of an individual, corporation or some other entity, known as the "principal." The letter spells out the details of the task that the principal authorizes the agent to perform, including signing paperwork related to the sale of a vehicle. Notarization may be required depending on the state in which the authorization is being granted.

If Peddle has requested a Letter of Authorization, each vehicle or offer will require its own Letter of Authorization as it must include the details of the vehicle in question. Use the example below as a reference when creating your Letter.ย
