Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Maryland

The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:

1. Download and fill out the Maryland Duplicate Title Application, or do it online. 

2. You can do one of the following options:

Bring the application to the Motor Vehicle Administration.

Time frame to get the title: 5-7 business days
Cost to obtain: $20
​ 
Mail the application to the Motor Vehicle Administration.

Cost to obtain: $20

​Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Maryland
​
The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
