Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Alabama
The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:
1. Complete the online Alabama Duplicate Title Application.
2. You can do one of the following options:
Bring the Alabama Duplicate Title Application to the Motor Vehicle Division.
Time frame to get the title: 7-14 business days
Cost to obtain: $15
Mail in the Alabama Duplicate Title Application to the Motor Vehicle Division.

Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Alabama
The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
