What an electronic title is and if it is accepted

Updated over a month ago

An electronic title (or e-title) is a digital version of a vehicle's title of ownership. Instead of a physical paper document, the title is stored electronically by a state's motor vehicle agency.

We'll need the physical paper title to provide you an offer based on having a title. You can contact your local motor vehicle agency to convert the title from an electronic title to a physical paper title. As always, we'll need the most recently issued title. This means the issue date will be after the issue date of the electronic title.

Don't want to wait to get the physical paper title? No problem! We may be able to find a buyer to purchase your vehicle with other ownership documents. Be sure to select 'I don't have a title' when getting your offer.
